Day 4: Gudvangen & Viking Valley experience
We start the day with a beautiful route via beautiful roads and nature parks. In the afternoon we arrive in the town of Gudvangen at a Viking village where Viking life is still really lived. We go back 1000 years in time during a 'Viking Experience' tour. In the village you can talk to the Vikings, perhaps do some traditional handicrafts and throw axes or do archery. And all this in a beautiful location: in the heart of the Norwegian Nærøyfjord, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Day 5: Flam - Aurlandsvangen - Scenic route Aurlandsfjellet
Today we wind our way up through the mountains. Among other things via the Aurlandsfjellet; a beautiful mountain pass of approximately 48 kilometers between Aurland and Lærdal. This road offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, with steep rock faces, green valleys and impressive waterfalls. The tourist route Aurlandsfjellet, also called Aurlandsvegen, is one of the most beautiful roads in Norway. Along the way you will encounter the beautiful Norwegian nature. This scenic route will definitely impress!
Day 6: Boat trip Geiranger (7 sister waterfall) & Trollstigen
We leave the cars for a while and experience the Geirangerfjord in a different way. Namely; by boat. Along the way we make several photo stops including the famous 'Seven Sister waterfalls'! You can't get any closer to nature!
After the boat trip we will brave the Trollstigen route (also called Troll route). One of the most famous panoramic routes in Norway. The route is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Day 7: Atlantic road
If you think you've seen all the beauty, you're wrong. We drive on to the Atlantic Road. The Atlantic Way is a route of 8 kilometers, consists of beautiful sharp bends and runs straight through the Atlantic Ocean. A drive on the Atlantic Way is definitely an unforgettable experience and is therefore called the most beautiful route in the world!
Day 8: Rondane National Park Scenic Route – Lillehammer
Via the beautiful Rondane National Park we drive south towards Lillehammer.
Along the way we make a stop at the Sohlbergplasse viewpoint. Here you stand on a wooden platform and look out over the impressive mountains and valleys of Rondane.

FancyCarTours organizes road trips, where driving is the main focus. Our primary goal is to let you drive along the most beautiful roads. Although we sometimes plan nice excursions, it is important to understand that these excursions are only an addition to the trip. FancyCarTours mainly focuses on organizing road trips and not on excursion tours. If you want to visit a country for more excursions, we recommend booking extra nights after the trip so that you can explore the area at your own leisure.
Norway has good roads, so your car is suitable for this edition.
We start in Denmark, where we take the boat together to Oslo. You have to sit on the boat for about 2 hours.
We will make sure you can park at the hotel. However, we are not responsible for theft or loss of your car. It is recommended to have an SCM5 or SCM4 security system in your car.
- Medical Coverage: Accidents and illnesses can happen anywhere. Travel insurance ensures that your medical expenses are covered, no matter where you are. This includes hospital stays, doctor visits and possible repatriation home.
- Cancellation Costs: Sometimes unforeseen circumstances can force you to cancel your trip. Travel insurance covers the costs of cancellation, so you don’t have to worry about financial losses.
- Loss and Theft of Luggage: Loss or theft of luggage can seriously disrupt a trip. Travel insurance covers you for lost or stolen luggage and personal belongings, so you can quickly purchase replacement items.
- Emergency Assistance and Support: In the event of an emergency, travel insurance provides 24/7 assistance and support. This can range from medical evacuation to assistance with lost passports or legal issues.
- Unforeseen Events: Natural disasters, strikes, and other unexpected events can disrupt your travel plans. Travel insurance provides coverage for such situations, so you can minimize the financial impact.
- Peace of Mind: Perhaps the most important benefit of travel insurance is the peace of mind it provides. You can enjoy your trip knowing that you are covered for a wide range of potential problems.
We guarantee careful planning for every road trip, but sometimes things don't always go as expected. This can be due to unexpected circumstances such as festivals, road closures, events, weather and things we haven't experienced yet :). Organizing a road trip is not an easy task; it's mainly about improvising in unexpected situations. That's why we ask you to have a go-with-the-flow mentality. If a road is closed, it shouldn't be a problem for you to take an hour's detour. And if it takes a bit longer to serve lunch, you don't see that as a problem either. We are dependent on external factors and have no influence on them
